Urban Oasis

In between the midlands and the mountains lies the city of Greenville SC. Unremarkable to some, what I love best about it is its urban, trendy downtown and this amazing park - an oasis if you will - in the midst of it all. I discovered Falls City Park last year and was thrilled by this cool piece of nature surrounded by modernity. Going back this time, my photographs were more urban centric, because the architectural environs were so interesting to me. But the fact that minutes - no, seconds - from the downtown eateries and current clothing stores - is a little place to relax and retreat. And then, when you've had your fill of city life, you can drive twenty minutes west and north and the mountains appear, as if out of nowhere, showing you glimpses of the quiet that lies just over the next ridge.
