California Beaches - North to South
From La Jolla to Sausalito, the California coastline is extraordinarily and wonderfully different. To me, the only common ground is the cold Pacific Ocean that connects them. From surf culture to sailing, crashing waves to calm waters, foggy, gray skies and brisk winds that require jackets even in the middle of June to sun-baked cliffs and warm sun on your back, they are a traveler's dream because in several short hours (or two days if you take your time) you can see the ever-changing beauty and power of the sea and the cliffs, walls and dunes that contain them.
