Miss Boots

I recently had the opportunity to capture this wonderful 80-something woman in her home. "Boots" (or Miss Boots as I will call her out of deference to her age) suffers from Alzheimer's Disease and her family asked me to capture some portraits of her, in her home, at her favorite spot by the window, so that they might always have a photo to look back on. This, to me, is what my work is all about.

Is your child America’s Cutest Kid?

Is your child America’s Cutest Kid?

My photography studio in Dayton, Ohio s participating in the National Charity Model Search to select “America’s Cutest Kid” and to raise funds for charity.

I'm looking for cute children ages 18 months to 14 years old to model for a portrait to be entered into the contest.

Models Search Special:
$70 session fee, which includes one photography session with your child and one image submitted to the national gallery. Sessions must be booked between now and March 20th, 2009.

Finalists will be determined by online votes. Anyone may vote. Each vote is $1, and all proceeds from votes benefit the non-profit Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep. (

Grand prize national winner will be determined from the 50 city finalists. Winners selected by photography and modeling industry experts.

If your child is selected the national winner, you’ll receive many prizes, including a $5,000 US Savings Bond and a Canon PowerShot G10 digital camera.

Cameron & Dominic

Dominic and Cameron are nine months old, cousins, and only a few days apart. It was two for one day in my studio! Two cuties, one session.
To see all my favorites from the session, visit my portrait blog at

As you'll see, I really love low-key portraiture and I experiment with shadows as well as light, tying for dramatic and unique images. I get a little funky, but it's kind of fun! To see all the images, go to and then click on "cousins"!

Journey Through Europe

In June of 2008 I took a 23 day journey through Europe - visiting England, Scotland, Ireland and Holland. Finally, almost 7 months later, I've gone through all the images and have chosen the best for my website.

Below are some of the favorites from that trip, each image representing a place I visited. If you followed my blog, some of these will look familiar as I used them when I was traveling (when I had the ability to connect to the internet).

To see all the photos from my journey, check out my website at or click on the images below.

My next "bloggable" European excursion will be the Mediterranean this summer - check back for Greece, Spain, Italy and Croatia in August!

Home for the Holidays

Three under Three

One of the privileges of going home to family for Christmas and New Year is that I get to photograph the children of my friends and well as see them grow from infancy to toddler and beyond. Below you'll find examples of the three little girls I had the chance to capture: my niece, Cosette, my friend Mary's daughter Emma and my friend Theresa's daughter, Veronica - ranging in age from a year and a half to three years. If you visit my portrait blog you can see more examples from each session, some which included the families. One of my favorites is at the end of the post entitled "Emma" - you can see how she has grown over the years because I have had the chance to photograph her three times since her birth - what a cutie!
