Facing away from the sun

When the unexpected happens, when things don’t turn out as we planned, when life throws us that proverbial curve ball, what do we do? The short answer is we cope and keep moving forward. What else can we do? Break down? Get even? Throw something? Perhaps try a different approach? All of those involve moving always forward, taking the next day and the next and the next as it comes; facing the challenge, moving on, hoping tomorrow will be brighter, never looking back. Wait. Wait just a second. Never looking back? Is that really the wisest course of action? Perhaps there are times, maybe more often than not, when we can learn something from turning around, facing the truth, seeing what we’ve left in our wake and learning from it. While moving on is certainly part of the process, what will be gained from taking the time to turn around and face away from the sun?

These images were taken at sunset, however I was not facing the sun, I was facing away. See how the light illuminates the scene and what I might have missed had I faced in only one direction.

Jacqelynn,

beautiful pictures, and an even better post to go with them...

Any journey can be difficult, because of who and what we are...

But sometimes, just sometimes, we find a light at the end of a tunnel...

And it makes it all worthwhile...

Take care and be well,

Nick
