Under the Smoke
Ok - so these first few are not the Smokies, but they are the tail end of the NC portion of the trip - the overlook to Bass Lake in Blowing Rock, NC from the Moses Cone Craft Center. A dreary day, but saturated with color.
The rest are from the Great Smoky Mountain National Park in Tennessee, specifically Cades Cove and some falls shots from nearby. This is, without a doubt, one of the most magical places on the east coast, and certainly delivers every time I visit. This trip was a bit overcast and so busy - I believe this is the most visited National Park in the country, and especially in the fall when people in vehicles line up to make the 11 mile trip around the Cades Cove loop. In the busiest time it can take 4 hours to make the loop - without stops. So needless to say this was the busiest time of year. But getting there early helped, and the light was nice. It wasn't my best trip, but it certainly yielded some "keepers" in my image library.
This completes the journey south, but not the journey. Starting Monday Oct 27th I will be posting a photo a day, something part of my daily life but not specifically nature and landscape images. Maybe some creative stuff. Also keep checking back for more specific blogs when I travel to Washington DC early next month, to Charlotte for a work trip later and a few day trips in between. Also start checking up on my portrait blog as I post the portrait work I do - www.jacquelynnbuckportraits.blogspot.com
